NFL DFS: Sunday Night Football Showdown

Sunday Night DFS Showdown

Packers at Vikings (-1)

O/U 43

Sunday Night Football features an NFC North battle between Green Bay and Minnesota. Both teams need the win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Minnesota can clinch a wildcard spot with a win. The bookmakers have this as an even match that should be hard-fought and fairly low-scoring.

Minnesota will be starting rookie QB Jaren Hall tonight. Hall was less than steller in 2 games earlier this year before getting injured. The Vikings are just hoping he doesn’t turn the ball over like Nick Mullens. Jordan Addison will be back tonight to help open up the passing game, but the Vikings lost TJ Hockensen to an ACL injury last week. Josh Oliver is a solid TE option that should see an increase in targets at a good salary. Ty Chandler has taken over the backfield and will face a Green Bay running defense that gives up the 6th most fantasy points to opposing running backs. I expect Minnesota to run the ball a lot tonight.

Green Bay will be without Christian Watson and (likely) Dontayvion Wicks, leaving Romeo Doubs, Jaylen Reed and Malik Heath. At TE they have Tucker Kraft, who is getting 6 targets a game over the last 3, and should see an increase with all the injuries. Aaron Jones appears to be healthy finally and he faces a middle-of-the-pack Minnesota run defense. Jordan Love has looked good the second half of the season and will be in most of my lineups.

You can see why the game total is low. I think this will be a slow game with a lot of running and possibly many field goals. From a game theory stand point, I will be playing defenses with their corresponding running backs in many lineups.

Let’s get to the player pool and some sample lineups. Good Luck!

Joel Bitonio told reporters Saturday he's undecided whether to return next season.
Bitonio said back in December that he would take some time this offseason to consider retirement. Not much as changed here as the 33-year-old guard told reporters that retirement is "definitely within the realm of possibilities." The seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro also mentioned that he was leaning one way but wasn't ready to share it. The tentative timeline for his decision is the start of free agency. Bitonio has one year left on his contract with the Browns and also mentioned in December that he doesn't envision himself joining another team. Cleveland could be looking at a massive rebuild given its quarterback issues, Myles Garrett asking out and potentially Bitonio's retirement.
