Tipsy Picks Week 5

Tipsy Picks Week 5

Extreme Values. Miracle dependant plays. One-off shots off the beaten path!

You’ll need a few beers or a stiff pour of bourbon to stomach these picks…

I know everyone looks forward to my epic videos that I mostly remember making, but sadly I am on vacation this week and the signal just won’t be strong enough to upload the kind of quality production that you all deserve.

Let’s crack that beer and dive right in!

Tipsy QBs

Daniel Jones – $5,400 @ DAL

I know, I know, but a broken clock gets the time right twice a day. If I just keep picking him, eventually he’ll have that game that I can shout I TOLD YOU SO! This is it if there is going to be one! Darius Slayton has a very nice matchup against the worst D the league has seen in years. Line him up and Engram too! Come on Danny Dimes, this is it!

Derek Carr – $5,300 @ KC

We all love Mahomes every week but if you want Patrick and gang to go nuclear you need the other side to hang with em. It’s too easy to wanna play just Waller or Jacobs but let me make a suggestion. Line up CEH against this very beatable Vegas run defense, or lock in Watkins for his every odd-numbered week smash performance, and then drop in Carr with Waller. I’m telling you he will have to throw over 40 times and getting a piece of that volume for the lowest salary of a startable QB is a direction that can pay off in huge GPPs!

Tipsy RBs

Antonio Gibson $5,000 vs LAR

The Rams defense isn’t that good. We have a change at QB and Gibson was more involved as a dump-off option last week. I think they believe in the talent and will push to get him involved even more. People shy from this team but quietly Gibson, Terry and Logan Thomas are having a nice year.

Gibson Week by Week

1: 11 Touches 44 yards

2: 14 Touches 52 yards TD

3: 12 Touches 60 yards TD

4: 17 Touches 128 yards TD

5: ***24 Touches 135 yards 2 TD???? Eh? Eh?***

Chase Edmonds $4,700 @ NYJ

Drake has been unimpressive, he had a mild injury scare last week and with any luck, Kyler Murray and the gang put up a lead and quick. If Drake is ineffective again if they get a lead and don’t need him, or they are just that bad and need to keep throwing than Chase could see a season-high amount of touches. I don’t like any RB’s under 5k unless you believe Hunt will not get a big uptick in carries and D’Ernest Johnson gets a solid run in Cleveland (which I may lean into before the weeks up).

Tipsy WRs

Sammy Watkins $4,500 vs LV

Week 1: 21.5 pts

Week 2: 2.1 pts

Week 3: 13.2 pts

Week 4: 7.3 pts

Week 5: ?????

The pattern doesn’t lie…. Do it.

Preston WIlliams $4,100 @ SF

I like to take a team that kinda sucks against a team defense that has the perception of being really good and pick a guy that will be impossibly low owned with talent and potential to hit value+. Preston has all the talent necessary and a QB willing to take a bunch of deep shots. It’s a good recipe. I usually like to see higher target shares for guys even in the tipsy picks but this price point is nice and will be pretty much not owned. Maybe he should stay that way…

Cedric Wilson $3,100 vs NYG

Let’s get a piece of this DAL offense that is just airing it out. If you need to go basement floor on WRs this week there are little options so why not take a shot here. In the last 2 weeks he has seen 6 and 7 targets and will be an absolute steal should any of the three guys ahead of him get hurt. I’m rostering him in deep bench leagues of 12 or 14 teams and I am using him in a few salary save spots in big GPPs.

Olamide Zaccheaus $3,000 vs CAR

With Jones and Ridley banged up and Gage disappearing, it was OZ and Blake that stepped up for production last week. OZ looked like a legit candidate to slide into the 3rd spot that Gage occupies now and I think Jones sits this week giving him another opportunity for looks in a game I expect to be a high volume shootout. I don’t even think you need to be tipsy for this play!

Tipsy TEs

I’m not sure there is any stand-out Tipsy TEs but if you want to save some salary here are some guys I can get behind.

Eric Ebron- $4,000 maybe my favorite TE play this week overall

Logan Thomas- $3,500 in a matchup I already said I kinda like

Ian Thomas- $3,400 against a team that struggles to cover TE with a high total.

Tyler Eifert- $3,400 red zone target for a game I like to go over the predicted total.

Tipsy Defense

I’m, paying up at DEF this week, but if you want to go low…

Washington $2,600 – Front Line really pressures the QB. Goff can be forced into mistakes. A few sacks and an INT pays off if they can keep the pace of the game slow.

Cleveland $2,700 – Any team against Rivers gets Pick 6 upgrade!

Recent News

CeeDee Lamb (back/foot) was not spotted at Thursday's practice.
This isn't a great sign for Lamb's Week 12 availability. The star receiver was added to the injury report on Wednesday and listed as a limited participant and does not appear to be practicing today. His name will be one to watch when the Cowboys release their final injury report on Friday ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders. Lamb played through a shoulder injury in Weeks 10 and 11, but these new injuries may not be worth playing through for the 3-7 Cowboys.
