Week 16 DK Building Blocks

It’s week 16. Due to Holiday situations I won’t be able to be on the live stream tomorrow. Additionally, this might not be my most in-depth or longest article. I will, however, still give you the plays with some blurbs.

Chalk 4

David Montgomery ($7,700)- 35%

This really shouldn’t come as any surprise. The matchup is nice, Montgomery owns his backfield and he’s been crushing it. I will certainly have some shares of Montgomery tomorrow as I think he’s a solid play.

For him to fail or to get the absolute leverage over the field one of two things need to happen. Either the Jags destroy the Bears or someone else gets all the offensive touchdowns.

Allen Robinson ($7,700) 8%) This would be the first spot I look. But, to be honest he’s kind of pricey too. There aren’t a lot of guys that you need to pay up for on this slate so it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. Cole Kmet ($3,000) 5%) was a disappointment to many including yours truly last week. That doesn’t mean I’m afraid to go back. He was on the field, running the routes, just didn’t get the targets he needed. Darnell Mooney ($4,000) 6%) scoring touchdowns in the last two games he sees an even larger bump for a leverage play if Allen Robinson isn’t active. He’s currently listed as questionable.

Austin Ekeler ($7,600) – 33%

I can see both sides of this pretty easily. The Broncos at times this year have been really bad against running backs. Allowing massive game almost every other week. It’s in part what would make Ekeler a fantastic play if he wasn’t so damn chalky. Furthermore, we saw in the Chargers’ last game they aren’t afraid to trot out Kalen Ballage to do all the goal-line work. This might have been a high-scoring game the last time these two teams played but second times around for divisional games don’t tend to work out that way. I’m less likely to look for leverage than I am to just fade this all together.

Melvin Gordon ($5,600) – 20.10%

I can’t believe 2020 is going to end like this. I thought we had gotten past this awful part of our history. The one where playing Melvin Gordon on a full slate is a thing. For years I’ve been the one banging the drum that Melvin Gordon wasn’t good. He simply was gifted a huge red zone workload which he made the most out of. I have no interest in a chalk running back that runs the ball 11-12 times a game, has broken 100 yards twice, with a tiny role in the passing game, and isn’t very good. I just don’t want to hope that he somehow gets into the end zone twice.

Like the earlier game, I’m not really looking to anyone else on this offense for leverage. I’m not going to have a lot of exposure on either side.

The Chiefs

Three of the top 6 owned guys are chiefs. Travis Kelce ($8,500), Le’Veon Bell ($5,800), and Tyreek Hill ($9,000)– It’s kind of hard to get leverage in the game if they’re all going to have this ownership. I will say the one that I have little to no interest in is Bell.
