NHL Puck Drop

By Brewery Mark

COVID Update:
The NHL has postponed all Carolina Hurricane games through Jan 23.
Many Washington Capitals players have been placed on the covid list including Alex Ovechkin.

NHL Puck Drop will be a quick list of my favorite players, line stacks and bets for single day NHL slates. This will be updated as news is released.

I mostly play cash games (Double-ups and 50/50). I use the stacks for GPPs, mostly single entry tournaments..

Players are typically in order of price on DK. Stacks are single team stacks. One strategy is to “run back” a player from the opposing team, if you think the game will be a shootout.

Betting is Moneyline unless otherwise noted.

Initial Thoughts
Stack Montreal/Vancouver and Ottawa/Winnipeg.
St Louis should easily handle LA
You have to play Tyler Toffoli. He is too cheap for the massive production he is having right now. I dud game is coming but I will play him anyway.

Goalies (make sure you check before puck drop who is starting)
Jaroslav Halak – BOS
Carey Price – MON

Defense
Shea Weber – MON
Mike Reilly – OTT
Justin Faulk – STL
Ben Chariot – MON

Centers
Bo Horvat – VAN
Nick Suzuki – MON
Ryan O’Reily – STL
Brayden Schenn – STL
Paul Stasny – WPG

Wingers

Recent News

Raiders CB Nate Hobbs (ankle) did not participate in Tuesday's walk-through.
Also out was CB Jakorian Bennett (shoulder). The Raiders secondary struggled without either cornerback in Week 12 against the Broncos and both are trending out again. Hobbs and/or Bennett will need to practice later in the week in order to play Friday, but for now, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are slated for an extremely favorable matchup in Week 13.

Raiders WR Tre Tucker (hip) was limited in Tuesday's walk-through.
Tucker caught seven passes for 82 yards in the Raiders' Week 12 loss to the Broncos. He was not noted to leave the game with an injury, so this limited hip listing can be assumed as load management on a short week. Practice reports later in the week will tell if that is indeed the case, but for now expect Tucker to still be on track to play Friday against the Chiefs.

Raiders RB Alexander Mattison (ankle) was limited in Tuesday's walk-through.
Mattison was listed as a limited participant in the Raiders' Tuesday walk-through after missing Week 12 due to an ankle injury. With Zamir White (quad) missing practice, Mattison is slated to be the lead back if he is good to go for Friday against the Chiefs. Regardless, expect another heavy dose of Ameer Abdullah. If Mattison can play, he is a low-end RB3, otherwise Abdullah slates into that range.

Aidan O'Connell: Deemed full participant in practice
O'Connell was estimated as a full participant in Tuesday's practice walkthrough, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
