Happy week 2 fantasy followers! We got to dip or toes into the season last week and now it’s time to jump right in. Whether you are 1-0 or 0-1, the season is young and so much can happen between now and fantasy playoffs so keep your head up, adjust weekly, and put your team in the best position to win.
Last night was the TNF matchup between the LA Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. What a weird game. Chargers looked in control and were cruising, until they weren’t. Herbert threw 3 TDs and Mahomes threw 2 TDs. The Chiefs escaped with a win thanks to a huge INT return for a TD early in the 4th quarter. After that the Chargers seemed depleted and then Herbert got hurt. He was clearly in pain in what looked to me like his ribs took a beating. He finished the game and even got LA to cover the spread, but Herbert owners everywhere were and probably still are holding their breath. We will have to monitor his injury closely up until his next game.
Week 2 has some interesting matchups to look forward to. Sunday there are currently 7 different games that have a spread of 5+ including 5 games with a 7.5+ spread. Also, for the first time since week 11 of the 2020 season, the Detroit Lions are favored to win a game. That game is against Washington in Detroit with a spread of 2. My favorite Sunday matchup is the Dolphins travelling to Baltimore. Both teams are looking strong early and the books have Ravens favored by 3.5. I could see Miami’s defense holding strong and making Lamar Jackson’s day very hectic. Don’t sleep on Miami.
I’m here every week during the fantasy football season with start and sit suggestions that can impact your team each week. My decisions as always include obvious and not so obvious picks. I would also like to clarify that my sit suggestions are based on the assumption you have or can add a player that has a better chance at success. Good luck this week and continue to check out my weekly articles.
START OF THE WEEK
Start – Saquon Barkley – Welcome back Barkley! That’s the Saquon people wanted when they drafted him. A total game changing force that puts the entire team on his back. Barkley had 164 rushing yards with a rushing TD, and also contributed 6 receptions for 30 receiving yards on 7 targets. Barkley led the team in almost every offensive category except for receiving yards and receiving TDs. This week he gets the Panthers defense inside Giants home stadium. The Panthers gave up 141 rushing yards last week to Nick Chubb in Carolina. Finally feel some confidence starting Barkley this week.

Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders Playing In Shrine Bowl
It’s become clear that scouts only view two quarterbacks in this year’s draft class as elite prospects: Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward. While it’s almost certain that both players will be taking the next step to the NFL following this college football season, Sanders pretty much made it official, this week by accepting […]

Brock Purdy "Up In The Air" For Week 13
49ers HC Kyle Shanahan admitted Friday that QB Brock Purdy (shoulder) is "up in the air" for Week 13. "I don't want to say there's long-term concern," Shanahan said. "We thought he just needed some rest. Really weren't concerned about him not being good this week, but when he started up Thursday, it surprised him, surprised us how it felt, so we had to shut him down." GM John Lynch said Friday morning that Purdy's Monday MRI didn't reveal anything concerning, but it doesn't seem like Purdy was close to being able to play against Green Bay on Sunday. We'll keep you updated on his status next week.
