Waiver Hub – Week 3

Happy Tuesday, Mike here, welcome back to my weekly Waiver HUB. Follow me on Twitter (@FantasyHubbard) for all things fantasy football throughout the season.

Week 3 is days away with a Thursday Night Football game between the 1-1 Patriots and the 1-1 Jets. Both teams want that 2nd win and more importantly that division rivalry win. The over/under is low currently at 37.5 with the Jets being favored by 6.5.

Fantasy football is underway now so it’s time to make some moves and prepare for fantasy post season greatness. Injuries are inevitable so here’s another chance to hit the waiver wire and get impactful players. Another week gone, another opportunity to make your team stronger and inch your way to that league trophy and an offseason of bragging rights.

Below are my top waiver wire priorities this week. Go get those available players to help your chances at a championship. Good luck this week and remember to check back every week to stay informed on who you could target off of waivers.

TOP PRIORITY OF THE WEEK

Derek Carr – New Orleans Saints

Derek Carr has had quite the start to his season. In 2 starts he has 5 passing TDs and a rushing TD as well. What’s most impressive is that he had 23 pass attempts in week 1 and then just 16 in week 2. Carr has made it look easy thus far throwing for 443 yards and blowing out the Panthers and Cowboys.

Roman Wilson (ankle) was listed as a full participant for Thursday's practice.
Wilson was able to get in a full session after being limited Wednesday. The rookie wideout was also a full participant in last week's Thursday practice, however, and he didn't see the field. It still seems likely that Wilson is going to be available for Week 3, but there's no guarantee of a significant role for that contest.

Vikings WR Justin Jefferson (quad) was seen practicing on Thursday.
Jefferson was a limited participant in Wednesday's walkthrough as well. Both developments bode positively for his Week 3 availability against the Texans. His official practice designation has yet to be released but fantasy managers should be encouraged by another LP. Ideally, Jefferson will fully participate tomorrow but even a setback-free day with limited participation would give him decent odds of suiting up.
